This glossary of terms intends to provide the TESDA key players, partners, and stakeholders an online and updated TVET information, concepts, to bring common understanding and clarification on the use of TESDA terminologies.

Industry Trainer
it is designated by the partner enterprise to conduct the training in the workplace for individuals or groups undergoing SIL.

Industry TVET Board
an independent industry-led body that aims to bridge the gap between the demands of the industries and the TVET skills standards by ensuring that education and training systems are responsive to labor market needs

Industry Work Experience Required (IWER)
the number of years of industry work experience required for trainers to teach in a qualification as prescribed in the Training Regulation.

Industry Working Group
a group composed of representatives of industry associations, organizations, TVET institutions, labor groups and concerned government agencies who are working directly with TESDA in skills planning, standards development, assessment and certification, and promotion of TVET.

Informal Apprenticeship
is based on a training (and working) agreement between an apprentice and a master craftsperson wherein the agreement may be written or oral and the master craftsperson commits to training the apprentice in all the skills relevant to his or her trade over a significant period of time, usually between one and four years, while the apprentice commits to contributing productively to the work of the business. Training is integrated into the production process and apprentices learn by working.

Informal Education
is a lifelong process of learning by which every person acquires and accumulates knowledge, skills, attitudes, and insights from daily experiences at home, at play, and from life itself.

Informal Learning
learning resulting from activities undertaken daily at work, in the family or in leisure activities.

Informal Sector
consists of units engaged in the production of goods and services with the primary objective of generating employment and income to the persons concerned in order to earn a living.

Informal Training
training that usually occurs on the job through interactions with co-workers as part of the day-to-day work.

Information and Communication Systems
a system for generating, sending, receiving, storing, or otherwise processing electronic data messages or electronic documents, and includes the computer system or other similar device by which data is recorded, transmitted, or stored, and any procedure related to the recording, transmission, or storage of electronic data, electronic message, or electronic document.
