Former rebels and drug reformists have received scholarship programs from TESDA Provincial Office-Isabela under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP). 
 
Twenty former rebels from Sitio Lucban, Dibuluhan, San Mariano in Isabela province underwent Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW) NC I which started on April 5 at the Isabela Provincial Training Center (IPTC). 
 
According to Provincial Director Vilma Cabrera, the training is one of the interventions provided by the TESDA -led Poverty Reduction Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC). Director Cabrera said these activities will continue as part of the national government’s efforts to curb insurgency in the country through provision of livelihood and employment.  
 
The opening program was also attended by police and military officers represented by P/Lt.Col. Jeffrey Raposas and P/Major Ranilo Bumagat; and P/Lt. Col. Michael Aydoc from the Isabela Police Provincial Office. IPTC administrator Juliet Ramos led a Training Induction Program (TIP) to inform the beneficiaries of their benefits and responsibilities. 
 
On the other hand, twenty drug reformists from Ramon, Isabela will undergo training in Driving NC II which will be also supervised by the IPTC. A TIP was also held at the Ramon Police Station, Bugallon Proper. 
 
Director Cabrera said providing skills training programs to drug reformists and rebel returnees is in line with the guiding principle “TESDA Abot Lahat.”
 
P/Lt. Noli Cipriano, Deputy Chief of Police of Ramon, lauded TESDA for reskilling the “special clients” as part of their reintegration to the society.
 
The TWSP scholars will receive free training and assessment, free GSIS insurance for a year, PHP500 new normal allowance, PHP500 uniform allowance and a daily allowance of PHP160 pesos within their prescribed training duration.
