TESDA Region IX sent another batch of workforce and assistance for the victims of Typhoon Odette in Camiguin Island. 

The second group of carpenters, masons, tile setters, electrician, painters, plumbers and welders—who are TESDA IX graduates—were deployed to fast-track the infrastructure restoration of the affected areas in the island. Along with the deployment of workers are donations in cash and in kind, such as construction materials worth PHP36,100.00 from Zamboanga Sibugay Polytechnic Institute and TESDA Provincial Training Center- Pagadian; hygiene kits and basic goods worth PHP28,539.00 and cash donation amounting to PHP41,874.00 coming from the TESDA Operating Units in Zamboanga Peninsula and from Molave Agri-Industrial Technical Vocational Institute. The Malasakit and Bayanihan Movement meanwhile donated long sleeves shirts for the workers. 

The TESDA IX’s relief and assistance team was led by Regional Director Dan Navarro. 

The deployment of TESDA manpower for construction-related assistance and distribution of relief goods are part of the TESDAmayan initiative in rehabilitating the areas that are severely affected by Typhoon Odette. Other assistance includes the distribution of solar-powered charging stations and mobilization of trainers for Food Production as well as Bread and Pastry to provide food and training cum production in affected communities.
