The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) hails the signing of Republic Act 10647 or the Ladderized Education Act of 2014, which institutes a ladderized interface between tech-voc and higher education.
While TESDA and CHED have been advocating the ladderized program among schools and training institutions, the new law is a turning point for institutionalizing this system, and opening and expanding new life opportunities for students, including technical-vocational students.
The ladderized system is pro-poor and pro-students as it allows individuals to finish a tech-voc course, work, and if they choose to, return for a more advanced level, perhaps even move into a college degree.
TESDA will play a key role in giving life to the ladderized system because technical-vocational education will serve as the springboard of the youth to get to higher learning. As such, TESDA vows to offer relevant and quality courses to prepare the students' entry into the ladderized system.
Tech-voc will continue to improve and be a viable career option, being flexible, competency-based and jobs-oriented.
