Filipinos can now access free financial literacy modules developed through the collaborative efforts of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and BDO Foundation.

This after TESDA Director General, Secretary Jose Francisco “Kiko” B. Benitez, together with BSP Managing Director Atty. Charina B. De Vera-Yap and BDO Foundation President Mario A. Deriquito, led the launching of the new modules at the TESDA Auditorium in Taguig City last October 7.

“I want to thank BSP and BDO Foundation for partnering with us in developing the financial literacy modules that TESDA will offer through our TESDA Online Program,” Secretary Benitez said in his speech.

It can be recalled that in March 2023, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the development of a free online Financial Literacy Course (FLC) was signed between TESDA, BSP, and BDO Foundation.

Under the said MOA, there will be nine financial literacy modules to be developed covering essential topics on financial planning, saving, budgeting, debt management investments, financial scam prevention, and consumer protection.

Currently, there are already three modules available in the TESDA Online Platform (TOP) platform, namely: Financial Planning, Budgeting and Saving, and Debt Management.

“I hope our collaboration will not end with the three fin-ed modules that have been developed so far. Nagsisimula pa lang tayo [at] marami pa tayo gagawin na online courses,” the TESDA chief said.

Meanwhile, De Vera-Yap and Deriquito expressed their commitment to helping TESDA provide lifelong learning skills to Filipino tech-voc enrollees.

“This initiative is more than just about education, it is empowering individuals to create a stable and prosperous future after gaining new employment opportunities through the skills that they have acquired from the TESDA Online Program,” De Vera-Yap said.

“These are life skills that will be very useful to TVET completers as they enter the world of work or entrepreneurship,” Deriquito said.
For those who want to enroll, they can visit https://e-tesda.gov.ph/.

The TOP is a web-based platform that provides an effective and efficient way to deliver tech-voc training at the learner’s place and time. Currently, there are 176 online courses across different sectors in the TOP.
