EIM trainer honored with top TESDA Tagsanay Award

An Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) trainer of the Provincial Training Center – Calumpit in Bulacan emerged as the Overall Winner of the 2024 National Tagsanay Award, the highest honor for technical vocational trainers given by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Lawrence M. Ramos bested 16 other regional candidates and received the award during a ceremony at the Ylagan Hall of the National TVET Trainers Academy in Marikina City last October 8, 2024. Ramos also bagged the Best Trainer in Enhancing Training Package special award.

Analie M. Monserrat from the Quezon National Agricultural School took the first runner-up spot, while Violijim R. Arangote from the Surigao Del Norte College of Agriculture and Technology secured the second runner-up position and was also one of the recipients of the Most Innovative and Creative special award.

In his message, TESDA Director General, Secretary Jose Francisco “Kiko” B. Benitez congratulated the candidates and winners, and encouraged them to further inspire their colleagues, trainees and future workers.

“May you serve as mentors to other trainers and as models that embody quality in service, and cultivate among your trainees the growth mindset and the desire for lifelong learning and innovation,” said the TESDA Secretary.

“As TVET trainers, you transform the lives of our learners by guiding them through changing trends, and leading them to unlock their potential and elevate their competence,” added Secretary Benitez.

Winners of the special awards included Mercy A. Sacriz (of Datu Ibrahim Paglas Memorial College) who bagged the Viewer’s Choice Award; while Leona S. Cayapan (Isabela School of Arts and Trades), Armel M. Duran (Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College), Analyn J. Ellorin (Zamboanga Sibugay Polytechnic Institute), and Ronelyn A. Macalam (Kinoguitan National Agricultural School) were named Best in Data Gathering, Analysis, and Synthesis.

Likewise, Artemio T. Abalos (Marcos-Industrial School), Analie M. Monserrat, Armel M. Duran, Analyn J. Ellorin, and Ronilo D. Juevesa Jr. (TESDA Training Center - General Santos City) also garnered the Most Innovative and Creative special award.

The National Tagsanay Award Champion brought home a cash prize of Php 25,000; the 1st Runner-up, Php 20,000; the 2nd Runner-up, Php 15,000; and the Top Eight Trainers received Php 5,000.

Now in its 10th year, the 2024 Tagsanay Award was held with the theme “Pagpupugay sa Isang Dekadang Selebrasyon para sa mga Tagapagsanay na may Lingap at Maaasahang Tagumpay”, and as part of TESDA’s celebration of National Teachers’ Month.
