A fire broke out on the evening of July 4, 2023 at the Luciano Millan Memorial School of Arts and Trades (LMMSAT), a TESDA Administered School in Poblacion West, Asingan, Pangasinan.

Thankfully, there were no reports of casualties. The fire heavily damaged the institution's Marcos Type Building Nos. 1 and 2, including the tools and equipment of various qualifications contained within these facilities. Further, the Trainer's Methodology and Tourism Building likewise sustained damage.

Secretary Suharto T. Mangudadatu, Ph.D, TESDA Director General, assures the community of the continuous conduct of training.

"Despite this setback, our trainees can rest assured that all efforts are being done to ensure that their training will not be disrupted," said Secretary Mangudadatu.

TESDA is coordinating with the Rosales Skills Training Center (RSTC). Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades (PSAT), Provincial Training Center- Lingayen, and Pangasinan Technological Institute (PTI) regarding temporary training sites and the sourcing of the needed tools, equipment and other materials for training.

"We are extending all possible assistance and resources to LMMSAT to rebuild and repair the damaged facilities. Further, TESDA is working closely with local fire officials investigating the incident." added the Secretary.
