The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is encouraging Philippine Army (PA) personnel to take up the agency’s English language proficiency training.

“I would like to invite the Philippine Army soldiers to join us in enhancing the skills of Filipinos in foreign languages. We are looking forward for continuous language training to the Philippine Army soldiers,” Deputy Director General Aniceto D. Bertiz III said during the graduation of PA personnel on English language proficiency training.

Last September 20, a total of 25 personnel of the Philippine Army-Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group (PA-HHSG) finished English proficiency training provided by TESDA through its National Language Skills Center (NLSC).

Bertiz lauded the PA personnel and urged them to share the skills they have gained during the training with others. He noted that language proficiency reinforces the competencies of uniformed personnel in carrying out their duties effectively and efficiently.

“I also challenge our dear graduates to share your learnings and skills with your fellow soldiers and even to the communities that you serve.  It is one of the little ways of giving back to our country,” he said.

It may be recalled that TESDA has been providing various skills training to Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) personnel.

Also, TESDA has earlier expressed its intention to offer additional language courses such as Arabic, Mandarin, Korean, Italian, and French.

Currently, the NLSC offers English Proficiency for Customer Service Workers, Japanese Language and Culture, Japanese Language and Culture Level II, and Spanish Language for Different Vocations.

With Bertiz during the graduation were NLSC Chief Mitzi Samson-Endriano, HHSG Acting Commander Colonel Napoleon De Vera, MNSA (INF), Chief-of-Staff Col. Ivan San Jose, MNSA (INF).
