The Philippines, through the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), is sending 15 of its best graduates in different skill areas to compete during the WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition scheduled this October to November.
TESDA Director General Danilo P. Cruz said the country’s participation in international skills competitions will help ensure that the country’s tech-voc training remains at par with international standards.
“As you go on with the competition, I encourage all of you to do your best in your respective skills and promote skills development among your peers,” he said.
The TESDA Chief also expressed hope that the country’s representatives, along with their respective coaches, would be able to further understand the importance of their skills and the value of continuous learning.
Last Sept. 27 and 28, a total of 15 competitors and 15 experts in different skill areas attended the said program which aims to provide information on matters related to the skills competition and prepare them for the challenges of international travel.

In the Special Edition, a total of 62 skill competitions will be held over 12 weeks in 15 countries and regions. The competitions started last Sept. 7 and will last until Nov. 22.
