The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) congratulated Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma after his appointment was confirmed by the Commission on Appointments (CA).
“On behalf of TESDA, we support the confirmation of the ad interim appointment of Atty. Bienvenido Laguesma as Secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE),” TESDA Director General Danilo P. Cruz said.
The ad interim appointment of Secretary Laguesma as DOLE Chief was confirmed by CA last September 20, 2022.
DG Cruz said that with TESDA reverting back to DOLE and confirmation of Secretary Laguesma as Labor Secretary, Filipinos can expect improved programs and services of both agencies.
“We will be working closely and frequently with the good Secretary in advancing the labor and technical vocational education and training (TVET) sectors of the country and address perennial problems such as skills-job mismatch,” the TESDA chief said.
It may be recalled that President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos, Jr. issued Executive Order no. 5 transferring TESDA to DOLE as its attached agency from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).###
