Taguig City – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has remained among the most trusted government agencies, the first quarter survey of PUBLiCUS Asia showed.

According to the 2022 first quarter PAHAYAG survey, TESDA gained 49.9% trust rating, higher than its 46.1% trust rating during the PAHAYAG Fourth Quarter Survey released in December 2021.

Likewise, TESDA ranked second in trust rating behind the Armed Forces of the Philippines with 53.4% trust rating. TESDA was followed by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) with 45.9% trust rating.

Meanwhile, TESDA also placed second in approval rating with 65.8%, also behind AFP with 67.4%.

The survey was conducted nationwide covering 1,500 respondents during the period of March 30-April 6, 2022.

In 2021, TESDA has been consistently in the top of the quarterly surveys conducted by PUBLiCUS Asia.

TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña attributed the agency’s high trust and approval rating to its programs and continuous provision of skills training and livelihood programs to Filipinos especially to the displaced workers, repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), indigenous people (IPs), former rebels, among others.

“It is an honor to be, once again, among the most trusted government agencies. It gives us more reason to continue serving and reaching out to our kababayans, as embodied in our guiding principle, ‘TESDA Abot Lahat’” Lapeña said.

The TESDA Chief also shared that TESDA is leaning towards automation to better serve Filipinos. Recently, TESDA has launched the Biometric-Enabled Scholarship Registration System (BSRS) which uses facial recognition biometric technology in the scholarship registration and attendance system.

TESDA likewise has partnered with G-Xchange, Inc. (GXI) to provide its scholars the option to receive their Training Support Fund (TSF) via the GCash mobile wallet.

“I thank again all our kababayans for their continued trust and support to TESDA. We are continuously improving our services to better serve the Filipinos. TESDA is here to provide skills training and retooling which are vital to post pandemic economic recovery,” the TESDA Chief said. ###
