Beefing up its response to “Odette”-hit areas, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Negros Occidental has set up a “TESDAMayan” command post in Kabankalan City.

Last January 17, the team from TESDA Negros Occidental constructed the said command post located at the Provincial Training Center (PTC)- Kabankalan.

According to TESDA Region VI, the command post aims to serve as the base of the ongoing rehabilitation in Kabankalan City. All meetings, decisions, donations and listing of interested families who are in need of assistance will be done inside the command post.

Meanwhile, TESDA Region VI and the augmentation team from Region II continue to rebuild and reconstruct the houses of the selected residents of few barangays in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

To date, a total of 19 households from Barangay 4 and Nauhang in Sipalay City were assisted by the team.

Likewise, TESDA Region VI Regional Director Jerry Tizon once again visited cities of Sipalay and Kabankalan to provide relief operations and to check the ongoing rehabilitation assistance there.

Tizon had a meeting with the local officials in both cities to discuss the programs and initiatives of TESDA to help bring typhoon-stricken areas back on their feet.

Part of the discussion was the conduct of construction-related skills training for affected residents which will commence on the second week of February 2022.

In response to disaster-hit areas, TESDA has been providing reliefer and skills trainings
as part of its “TESDAmayan” initiatives created under the leadership of Secretary Isidro
