The TESDA Provincial Office - Laguna held a graduation ceremony for the thirty six trainees of Turn-On-The-Sun (TOTS) Training on Basic Solar (Off-Grid) Lighting and Charging System in Barangay Tuy-Baanan, Liliw, Laguna.

TESDA CALABARZON Regional Director Toni June Tamayo, Provincial Office Director Cariza Dacuma and Barangay Captain Josefino de Vera delivered their messages to the graduates who also received their certificates of training, solar panel starter toolkits and training allowances. 

Also present in the event are representatives from various regional government agencies namely Captain Jerome Mandocdoc from the Philippine Army; Josephine Braganza from Department of Agriculture IV-A; Raymond Ramos from the Department of Labor and Employment; Engineer Rodson Del Mundo from the Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) Laguna, and Nerissa Sulibit, from Municipal Mayor Office.

The Project TOTS is five-day training on basic solar (off-grid) lighting and charging systems, aimed to improve trainees' knowledge, abilities, and attitude in installing and commissioning basic photovoltaic (PV) off-grid systems. The program is under the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) which is among clusters under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC). The NTF-ELCAC or Executive Order 70 is the national government’s whole-of-nation approach to end insurgency in the country by providing livelihood and other essential government services to former rebels, indigenous peoples and communities in areas of conflict.
