The augmentation team from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region II has set up free charging stations in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

On January 11, Rogelio Rambuyan, Photovoltaic Systems Installation NC II trainer of the Regional Training Center (RTC) in Tuguegarao City, has set up a free charging station in Purok Punta Ballo, Barangay 4, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

Also, on January 12, another solar charging station was set up in Brgy. Hibuk Hibuk.

According to Region II, electricity has not been restored yet in the project sites, so they set up a solar-powered charging station that can be accessed by everyone in both areas.

The residents have expressed gratitude to TESDA for setting up a free charging station and said they were able to save twenty pesos for the charging fee.

Likewise, the TESDA Region II augmentation team has started rebuilding the homes of residents in Sipalay City which were devastated during the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.

Construction of the damaged houses began last January 8 in barangays Nauhang and Punta Ballo. Two houses in the said areas have been initially constructed by the 11-man team from Region II.

TESDA has been implementing a whole-of-TESDA approach in its rehabilitation efforts through a “Buddy System” in which regional offices not directly affected by the typhoon will deploy augmentation teams to the Odette-stricken areas to assist the affected TESDA regional offices. ###
