The TESDA-Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office joined the Former Rebels Summit held at the Hosea Christian Mission Church International in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro from March 17-18.
Forty-one former rebels (FRs) from the MAPPSA (Mamburao, Abra de Ilog, Paluan, Sta. Cruz and Sablayan) areas in Occidental Mindoro were present in the event that was also graced by the regional offices of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, PhilHealth, Philippine Army, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples and the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro. TESDA, together with these government agencies, presented their programs for the former rebels.
TESDA Occidental Mindoro Provincial Director Rosalina Reyes presented the programs and services of TESDA-Occidental Mindoro, especially the provision of the skills training programs for the Special Clients under the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte.
TESDA Occidental Mindoro committed to provide Driving NC II skills training for 25 FRs under the Training for Work Scholarship Program which will be held at the TESDA Occidental Mindoro Provincial Training Center in the municipality of Sablayan.
The FRs are among the priority sectors of TESDA under the Poverty Reduction Livelihood and Economic Cluster (PRLEC) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict. The PRLEC embraces the “whole-of-nation” approach in a pursuit to end insurgency in the country.
