A total of 34 Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel have received training from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Nueva Vizcaya on defensive driving.

TESDA Nueva Vizcaya conducted a community-based training on Defensive Driving with Anger Management through Self-care last February 9 to 11 at Camp Dumlao in the municipality of Bayombong.

A graduation ceremony was held last February 11 which was attended by TESDA Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Director Perla Lucas and PNP Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Director Colonel Ranser Evasco.

Lucas said that the training is part of the sustained partnership between TESDA and PNP through the conduct of capacity-building activities for personnel and joint endeavors in the implementation of programs and activities.

It can be recalled that in 2020, TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña and then PNP Chief Archie Gamboa signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that aims to empower Indigenous People (IPs), former rebels, and other members of far-flung communities in the country.

Under the agreement, TESDA was tasked to upskill police officers who will be tapped to visit remote communities to train residents on agriculture and other technical-vocational courses. ###
