A TESDA training institution in Davao City has city has chosen an organization of decommissioned combatants as one of its recipients for its scholarship programs. 

The Wangan National Agricultural School (WNAS) has selected twenty members of the Kagan Economic Development Administration for a 10-day training on “Prepare Land for Agricultural Crops Production (Leading to Agricultural Crops Production NC III)”. The organization has indigenous people and former rebels as its members. WNAS Acting Vocational School Administrator Engineer Melanie Domingo will supervise the training programs that started on October 5 at the Kagan Economic Development Administration Hall in Sirawan, Toril District, Davao City. 

The training is under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) where trainees will be receiving PHP160 daily allowance for 10 days, PPE allowance of PHP500 and internet allowance of PHP500 for the whole duration of training. 

The skills training program is part of TESDA’s initiative to help generate livelihood and employment on IP communities. Other members of the organization will also be receiving TVET programs that are applicable in their area and will be likewise supervised by WNAS.
