TAGUIG CITY - The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) reminds Caregiving National Certificate (NC) II holders that the job opportunity in Israel is still open for application.
In November last year, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced that Israel needs at least 500 Filipino Caregivers to work for them under a government-to-government scheme with no placement fee required.
TESDA's Director General, Secretary Isidro Lapeña, is pleased with this development and gave the assurance that Caregiving NC II holders are well-trained in accordance with international standards.
"Once you are an NC holder from TESDA, your future becomes limitless. They become your passport to various opportunities and it’s just up to you to choose the path you will take," he said.
TESDA records show that a total of 7,813 Filipinos have acquired their Caregiving NC II from January 1 to November 18 last year. 6,381 of them are female and 1,432 are male.
Israel does not require a college diploma, but applicants must at least be a high school graduate, have finished caregiving course, and passed TESDA’s assessment and certification.
According to the POEA, the contract will be for a maximum of five years with a monthly salary of $1,500 or around Php 75,000.
Other benefits include medical insurance and sick pay, as well as a suitable living accommodation in the home of Persons With Disabilities in Israel for the entire duration of the employment.
However, hired applicants will have to shoulder their own airfare and fees in processing the required documents.
POEA administrator Bernard Olalia also announced that applicants should be at least 23 years old with a height of at least 4’11” and weight of at least 45 kilograms.
"Israel is looking at hiring 90% female and 10% male workers that have never been to the country before," he said.
Olalia also added that they must be able to speak in English fluently and should have no relatives in Israel.
