A total of 40 scholarships from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) await the winners of a special project of the ABS-CBN network in Cebu.

TESDA collaborated with the network for the staging of the project dubbed “Kapamilya Mas Winner ka sa Libreng Eskwela,” that will give the lucky participants the training scholarships as their ticket to education.

“The scholarship vouchers will be part of the prize to the winners, and we hope this can attract the people in Cebu to join,” Secretary Joel Villanueva, TESDA Director General, said.

Villanueva said that the scholarship prize goes a long way, offering fresh opportunity to the recipient to earn a technical vocational education and training (TVET) certificate and a chance to land in a job.

Television plugs of the promo started in the network in February, which explained the mechanics for joining.  ABS-CBN will announce the winners in a special episode for the “Kapamilya Mas Winner Ka.”

The scholarship vouchers are for the following qualification programs: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (5 slots), Housekeeping (10 slots), Bread and Pastry Technology (5 slots), Food and Beverage Service (5 slots), Pinoy Hilot (5 slots) and Computer Hardware Servicing (10 slots).

TESDA identified five partner institutions for the training of the scholars: St. James Academy of Skills Technology, BMC College Inc., MGB Skills Development and Assessment Center Inc., Center for Healthcare Professions, Inc. and ELE Technical Training Center and Recruitment Agency Corp.

Along with the training, TESDA will also conduct competency assessment to the students before graduation.
