Pebrero 12, 2019 -- Mandaluyong City. Pinarangalan ng Bayan Academy ang Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) ng espesyal na pagkilala dahil sa “contributions in building nation from below through social capital formation.”
Ito ay ipinagkaloob sa isang programa na ginanap nitong nakaraang Pebrero 12 sa Garden Ball ng EDSA Shangri-La Hotel sa Mandaluyong City bilang bahagi ng ika-10 taong anibersaryo ng Bayan Academy.
Ang parangal ay tinanggap ni TESDA Deputy Director General for Policies and Planning Rosanna A. Urdaneta bilang kinatawan ng ahensya at ng Director General nito na si Sec. Isidro S. Lapeña.
Ipinagkaloob ng Bayan Academy, sa pangunguna ng kanilang Chairman at President Dr. Eduardo A. Morato, ang parangal sa TESDA dahil sa mga naiambag nito sa adbokasiya ng kanilang organisasyon partikular na sa larangan ng edukasyon at trabaho.
“I am glad to learn that TESDA and Bayan Academy have something in common as both of us aim to empower our fellow Filipinos by offering marketable and highly in-demand technical vocational education and training (TVET) programs, to increase their chances of finding employment or engaging in entrepreneurial endeavors,” sabi ni Urdaneta sa kanyang talumpati sa pagtanggap.
Nagpahayag din ng pasasalamat si Urdaneta at sinabing, “We were not expecting this as we are simply just performing our mandated functions. Nevertheless, it is an honor and privilege to be bestowed this award from such a prestigious institution.”
Mula 2009, ang dalawang institusyon ay mag-katuwang na sa pagbibigay ng mga programa na makakatulong sa lakas-paggawa ng mga Pilipino.
Ang Bayan Academy ay isang social development organization na itinatag noong 2008. Ito ay nagbibigay ng entrepreneurship, management at education training programs and services. Nagkakaloob rin ito ng livelihood and skills training courses para sa development institutions, cooperatives, banks, educational institutions at micro at small enterprises.
