The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) praised all the teachers for their dedication and contributions in making a difference in the lives of students, during the 2017 National Teachers’ Day held in Legaspi City, Albay.

TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong also recognized National Teachers’ Day, which is also known as World Teachers’ Day, during ceremonies held in Balong Centrum of Recreation, Legaspi City, Albay last Oct. 5.

Mamondiong also cited the teachers not only for teaching the students the basic skills but also for teaching them how to think critically.

Sixteen regional officials and personnel of TESDA, along with 29 Tagsanay (trainer) awardees and candidates, took part on the occasion.

Among those who joined the celebration were teachers from various schools, national and local government officials, top officials of Department of Education (DepEd), executives and employees of private companies, officers and members of volunteer organizations, etc.

With the theme "Gurong Pilipino: Kaakbay sa Progreso," various activities were lined up in honor of teachers during the celebration.
