The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will celebrate its 23rd anniversary starting Tuesday, August 22, with a series of activities aimed at connecting closer to the public.
 
With the theme “Malasakit at Pagbabago, TESDA, Susi sa Kinabukasan,” TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong will lead the anniversary week with a flag-raising ceremony on Tuesday morning. A Holy Mass will follow in the afternoon.
 
On Wednesday, August 23, an employees award program will be held in the morning to present awards such as loyalty award, model employees, and perfect attendance to TESDA employees. Officials will also greet employees whose have birth anniversaries in July and August.
 
TESDA will also give citation to local government units (LGU), industry partners, national government agencies (NGA) and other partner agencies through the Kabalikat Award.

On the other hand, successful TESDA graduates will be presented the Idol ng TESDA Award while outstanding trainers will receive the Tagsanay Award.
 
TESDA will also launch the Best Regional Performance Award in three regions which will best exemplify public service in their areas of jurisdiction.
 
On Thursday, August 24, the Health and Wellness Day will be held as Cocolife Healthcare gives free offsite physical exam, free massage, haircut and other wellness services, and flu vaccine for the employees.
 
At the "Vin D Honneur," TESDA will give recognition to the past Director General, Deputy Director General, Executive Director, Regional Director, Provincial Director and other retirees who have left a legacy in the agency during their respective stint.
 
Mamondiong thanked the TESDA employees for the success of the government agency since he became its director general.
 
Formerly known as National Manpower and Youth Council (NMYC), Republic Act 7796 then paved the way for the creation of the Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994.
