The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Yamaha Motor Philippines, Incorporated (YMPH) have joined forces to build a Motorcycle Training Center which aims to teach women and out-of-school youths on motorcycle and small engine servicing.
This after TESDA Director General Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong and YMPH President Toru Osugi signed a memorandum of agreement for the creation of the Motorcycle Training Center at TESDA Women’s Center in Taguig City.
The MOA signing was witnessed by officials and employees of TESDA and representatives of YMPH who later unveiled the marker for the Motorcycle Training Center. The training laboratory was also blessed during the same event.
Mamondiong said that the project would later provide National Certificates II to trainees who would complete their training and pass the necessary assessments.
The MOA stated that the establishment of a Technical Vocational Education and Training Center for Motorcycle and Small Engine Servicing will serve out of school youth or marginalized young adults specifically women.
The MOA also stated that the YMPH would give motorcycles, tools and equipment which would be used by the trainees at the Motorcycle Training Center.
The two groups will also assist the graduates of the motorcycle and small engine servicing course to be hired as on-the-job trainees in Yamaha service centers.
