TESDA TO TEACH JAPANESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE TO NURSES, CAREGIVERS

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has said that it will teach Japanese language and culture to nurses and caregivers who are bound for Japan.

TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong said that up to 191 nurses and caregivers have availed of the program on Japanese language and culture which started on November 4.

Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kasuhide Ishikawa attended the program's launch for nurses and caregivers. 

“Not only will it determine your chances of passing the Japanese national examination, but it will also make a huge impact on your overall experiences in Japan. The more you learn the language, the more fruitful your life will be” said Ishikawa in his opening remarks.

Mamondiong has encouraged students to study the language and culture well so that there will be no issue on language barrier.

Those who have enrolled for the six-month Japanese course is the 9th batch of Filipino health workers who availed of the program under the National Language Skills Institute of TESDA. 

A total of 971 students have already graduated from the agency's skills institute since 2011.

TESDA has said the local Japanese program will also prepare graduates for the Japanese Licensure Examinations which is major requirement if they want to get a permanent job in Japan.
