SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA led the 18 tech-voc institutions in Cebu including the host school University of Cebu Lapu-lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) Campus in the Skills Demonstration and Boodle Fight dubbed as 'Lihok, Luto, Mangaon Ta!’ (Sali, Magluto, Kumain Tayo!). The skills demonstration featured courses and competencies in Cookery NC II, Food and Beverage NC II and III and Household Services NC II. The tech-voc institutions in the province also prepared dishes for the lunch boodle fight right after the skills demo.
UCLM officials led by Vice Chancellors Engr. Analisa Son and Dr. Ulysses Aparece received Sec Joel along with local personalities. Sec Joel demonstrated his coffee barista skills in making espresso-based coffee like cafe latte and mocha in front of eager students and media. Aside from leading TESDA, Sec Joel is a graduate of TESDA course Food and Beverage NC III and a certified barista.
After the skills demo, Sec Joel joined the students, university officials, tech-voc trainers and administrators in the solidarity boodle fight.
“Kahit po sino na may masidhing pagnanasang umunlad ang kanilang buhay ay welcome po sa TESDA. Kahit kayo po ay mayroon nang karera o gusto pa lamang maghanap ng career at nais tahakin ang landas ng tech-voc, marami po kayong mapagpipiliang mga kurso na naka-angkla sa mga key-employment industries…"
