More than a hundred beneficiaries of TESDA-Coke STAR Program in Barangay Central Signal Taguig City greeted Secretary Joel Villanueva in the simultaneous PAROL Lighting Ceremony in Taguig City and other parts of the country. Sec Joel was the keynote speaker of the event sponsored by Coca-cola Philippines. Sec Joel, City Mayor Lani Cayetano, Vice President for Marketing of Coca-cola Philippines Jasmin Vinculado and other officials led the parol lighting countdown that lighted the whole street with Parols made out of recycled Coke plastic bottles.
The TESDA-Coke Star program beneficiaries and their families were honored during the program. To date, the TESDA and Coke have produced 26,586 trained and empowered women sari-sari store owners nationwide with a target of 200,000 by 2020.
