SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA led the TESDA 2014 LABOR DAY event, the culmination of the TATAK TESDA Video Making Contest with the Awards Night held at the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Parañaque City. Hosting the event were funny man Bayani Agbayani and her partner Ms. Grace Lee who did not escape Bayani's light banters which made the occasion fun, intimate and more meaningful. Industry partners, NGO heads, partner TVIs and guests from the different regions graced the event and became witness to the stories of struggle, hope and success that is truly TATAK TESDA. Mr. Bryan Hernandez was declared Grand Winner of the Individual Category while United Christian Academy College of Asia with its former student Jetson Mabalot bagged the grand prize for the School Category.

TESDA's partner and also a major sponsor of the event TEVSAPHIL was also present with it's president Col. Alejandro Escaño also head of MFI Foundation.

The success TATAK TESDA Video Making Contest was made possible through collective effort of the entire TESDA leadership headed by Secretary Joel Villanueva with its Deputy Director Generals, the national directorate, regional and provincial directors, employees and staff. And of course, because of the hundreds of submissions of inspiring TATAK TESDA video stories from within the country and overseas.

"You have worked hard all year through. I hope that tonight, everyone can relax, take it easy, and have fun. But we will enjoy together for a noble reason: to give a hefty salute to our hard-working tech-voc graduates. 

Saludo po ako sa dalawampung pinakamagagaling na mga tech-voc graduates, na buong pagmamalaking ipaparating ang kanilang mga natatanging istorya ng tagumpay, sa kauna-unahang TATAK TESDA Video Making Contest. Sila, kasama ng milyun-milyong mga “Tatak TESDA” sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo ang totoong “rockstars” ngayong gabi. Ang sigaw nila: “Ako’y Tatak TESDA!”
