ANOTHER EARTH-FRIENDLY SOLUTION FROM TESDA spearheaded by the agency's inspirational leader SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA as the organization entered into an agreement with MMDA for the TESDA-MMDA Light the City 2014 Project in the opening salvo of 2014 Earth Day celebrations.
The objective of the MOA is to provide efficient, economical, and earth-friendly pedestrian SOLAR LAMP POSTS in selected communities in Metro Manila. Under the MOA, this undertaking falls under TESDA’s Gift of Light Project. With the technology developed by My Shelter Foundation, TESDA will provide and manage the training-cum-production of the solar lamp posts.
MMDA General Manager Corazon Jimenez signed for the MMDA during the ceremony which was also attended by LGU Officials, NCR Liga ng mga Barangay members, NGO partners, celebrity friends and NGO partners who later on attended the crash course on building the solar lights.
"When I became the Secretary of TESDA, I envisioned an agency that will reach new frontiers in training and certifying our mid-level workforce. Not only we should respond to the training demands of our kababayans but we also remind ourselves the growing need of taking care of our environment... of this planet we call home. Not far from we are holding this ceremony is a building being constructed dedicated to developing and honing green technology and green skills..."
