TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong emphasized the big role trainers play in attaining the agency’s goal of supplying the skilled workforce requirement of the Build Build Build infra projects of the government.
He said this during the graduation ceremony of 33 new trainers who completed the Trainer’s Methodology course on July 14, 2018 held at ACES Polytechnic College, Panabo City, Davao del Norte.
The TESDA chief also explained that more trainers are needed to be trained to address
the challenges of the “Build, Build, Build” program including the lack of labor force, trainers and assessors.
The new pool of trainers will be tapped to train workers in Banaybanay, Davao Oriental who will undertake the construction of the1500-hectare eco-industrial park in the municipality.
ACES Polytechnic College President and CEO Dr. Francisco P. Dela Peña, Jr. gave assurance that the trained trainers are now equipped with the necessary skills, experience, and knowledge to train more people.
The proposed multi-billion eco-industrial project would require 10,000 to 30,000 skilled workers.
