A TRIO IS TIGHT AND NICELY ECONOMICAL” as the saying goes. Three activities were lumped into one, combining creativity with austerity. First was the Memorandum of Agreement Signing with the Middle East Industrial Training Institute (MEITI), represented by Mr. Haitham Akkila. Filipino welders now has a chance to achieve AWS-standard (American Welding Society) training, assessment and certification in Metals and Engineering Sector, especially in welding. This is TESDA’s feat in achieving world class excellence under the leadership of Secretary Joel Villanueva.
Sec Joel then proceeded to the presentation of the TEAM Manggagawang Pilipino, our skilled competitors and their team leaders and coaches, who will represent the country in the 9th ASEAN Skills Competition in Jakarta, Indonesia this coming November. After a long pause in our country’s participation, Sec Joel revived the Skills Competition in the country to ensure we are at par with the world standards.
Then Sec Joel concluded with the turnover of new vehicles to TESDA Regional Offices. Blessing comes to TESDA’s way because in TESDA, “we have a cause to pursue and a goal to achieve.” After 14 years from the last acquisition, TESDA offices around the country will now enjoy new vehicles to be used in the exigency of service to our kababayans, thanks to the support of President Noynoy Aquino.
“….At this point, pwede ko na ho sigurong sabihin na FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS AND LET US CONTINUE OUR JOURNEY TOWARDS ONE DESTINATION FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN THE COUNTRY – EXPANDING OUR PEOPLE’S CHOICES!”
“Sa TESDA, may choice ka.” – SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA
