The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s top executives led by its Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong, met for the first National Directorate Conference of the year last Jan 16 at the agency’s Women’s Center in Taguig.
During his message, the TESDA Chief congratulated everyone for a job well done in 2017 and hoped for sustained and even better performance for the present year.
Mamondiong also expressed his confidence that that the country’s TVET providers would get more recognition and acceptance as centers of excellence here and abroad, and encouraged the executives to exert more efforts to improve and expand enterprise-based training.
Some 30 participants, composed of the Authority’s Deputy Directors General, and Executive and Regional Director, attended the 3-day conference.
Among the topics discussed during the sessions were the highlights of TESDA’s 2017 accomplishments, planning guidelines, 2017 scholarship program reports, skills competition results and the guidelines for the 12th ASEAN Skills Competition.
The workshops that ensued included formulation of the regional targets and scholarship allocation plan.
