Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Chief SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA led the graduation ceremony and the distribution of scholarship vouchers at the Western Leyte College in Ormoc City. Sec Joel was met by Mayor Edward Codilla, Ormoc City Mayor who was obviously happy to have been visited by the cabinet official. (Mayor Codilla is the son of Sec Joel’s good friend and former colleague in Congress, Cong. Dodong Codilla. Mayor Edward even toured Sec Joel around the city after the event.) Councilor Vincent Rama of the City Council and who represented Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez also welcomed Sec Joel who later distributed scholarships amounting to 4.75 million for the constituents of Ormoc City.
Sec Joel was the guest of honor and keynote speaker during the said graduation and scholarship distribution ceremonies. He was accompanied by TESDA Region 8 Regional Director Cleta Omega and Leyte Provincial Director Lorie Banaryo.
