Secretary Joel Villanueva and Brother Armin Luistro, FSC, Secretary of the Department of Education led the turnover ceremonies of school armchairs to San Antonio Elementary School in San Francisco Del Monte, Quezon City. The 500 units of armchairs were made and assembled at the PNoy Bayanihan Project production site in TESDA NCR managed by TESDA National Capital Region. Actress, celebrity and education ambassador Ms Anne Curtis also graced the ceremonies.

PNoy Bayanihan is a joint project by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, PAGCOR, TESDA and DepEd. Just this July, TESDA received 280,000 board feet of confiscated lumbers from Customs to be turned into school armchairs. Around 2,500 knockdown units are being assembled in the NCR production site and will soon be ready for delivery.

– SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA
