TESDA International Programs

Two new training programs for Saudi instructors in technical-vocational education and training (TVET) opened April 26 at the TESDA head office in Taguig City.
These are the training program for instructors in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning (RAC) and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Skills Enablement Program which is ongoing until July 16.
This instructors’ training program is part of the bilateral TVET agreement between Saudi Arabia, as represented by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and the Philippines, as represented by TESDA, signed in Riyadh in 2005 by Governor Dr. Ali Al-Ghafis of the then General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational Training (GOTEVOT) and Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Bhanarim A. Guinomla.
The project aims to, among others, upgrade the competencies of TVTC instructors in major courses/technologies and establish a venue for the exchange of ideas and experiences between the instructors/trainers of both countries.
In the past four years of the project, TESDA successfully conducted 17 training programs for 233 TVTC fellows consisting of 198 instructors and 35 principals and vice-dean. The biggest group of fellows came here in 2007 and 2009 with 77 and 78 fellows, respectively.
Some of the TESDA international programs attended by TVTC fellows were instructor’s program in food processing, multimedia, computer networking, digital photography, digital video production, electro-mechanical maintenance, and diagnosing computer failures.
