Magandang umaga po sa ating lahat.
I hope you are all doing well. I hope that you are taking care of your health as well as your family’s health during this pandemic.
Since the onset of COVID-19, TESDA has been providing support nationwide for all the frontliners, indigent families and the affected communities. This is through the production of face masks and personal protective equipment or PPE, as well as food products and promoting the best practices to ensure food security. This is of course with the help of our very own TESDA institutions, trainers and even students.
Through e-TESDA and our constituent regional and provincial offices, we have also produced instructional and self-help videos to further help our citizens adapt to the “new normal.” Covering the Enhanced Community Quarantine or ECQ period from March 16 to May 16, 2020, e-TESDA has recorded a total of 495,831 registered TESDA Online Program users. Through the TOP, registered users can access free courses and study at their own pace, at their own time.
Distance learning has been proven to be useful since before we entered the quarantine period, and so we strengthen this further so that more people will benefit. It is important of course that we use a channel that is used by a lot of our clients, and that is Facebook.
On behalf of TESDA, I would like to thank Pilmico for our continuing partnership, and for providing the funds for the refurbishment of the TESDA building which is now being used as the venue for the Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) NCII qualification. My heartfelt thanks also for your generosity in providing baking tools and equipment, ingredients and supplies for the use of our students in the BPP qualification.
It is an honor to be working with Pilmico in the “Wooden Spoon Hashtag Bake with Chef, Cook All Day Bake It Your Way,” (woodenspoon #bakewithchef “cook all day, bake it your way) an exciting new bakers Pilimico-TESDA webinar series, where Facebook users, especially the 1.9 million likers and followers of the official TESDA Facebook page, are free to watch and interact.
This aims to enable and empower partners at home to cook, produce and nourish for their families and communities, particularly during this quarantine time. This is also intended for both beginners and advanced bakers and cooks alike, who are open to learning new ideas and skills in creating their favorite cakes, breads and specialty dishes in the comfort of their own homes.
I encourage everyone at home to follow our new webinar series so that you can learn new ideas and skills during this quarantine period. Soon you will be able to create your favorite cakes, breads and specialty dishes in the comfort of your own homes.
For May 26, we will show you how to decorate a two-layer cake, and in June 9, we will show you how to make an egg noodle.
This is pretty exciting because Pilmico chefs and TESDA experts-technicians will be conducting the live baking and cooking demonstrations. They will also address the questions you ask online. Please feel free to ask questions regarding the baking process, the ingredients, or any baking related concerns.
A survey will be conducted after the webinar. Please share with us your thoughts and insights so that we may further develop our services.
For all our viewers, invite your friends and family to join. I hope you find this webinar helpful and enjoyable.
Please take care of your health and look out for each other during this time.
Thank you and god bless.
