Signaling the start of the nation's premier skills competition that will determine the next batch of Filipino champions bound for international competitions, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) officially launched today WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026.
Carrying the theme "Your Skills, Your Future," WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 underscores the vital role of technical skills in shaping brighter careers, empowering Filipino youth, and preparing them to thrive in an increasingly competitive global workforce.
The skills competition, set to take place from September 7 to 11, 2026, at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, will bring together around 350 competitors from TESDA's 18 regional offices, all of whom had earned their spots after emerging victorious in their respective Regional Skills Olympics.
"This competition is a showcase of technical excellence. Through WorldSkills, young Filipinos have a platform to demonstrate their world-class skills and prove that Filipino talent can compete and excel on the global stage," TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez said.
Formerly known as the Philippine National Skills Competition, the event now carries the official WorldSkills Philippines brand, reflecting its full alignment with the standards and framework of WorldSkills International. The rebranding reinforces TESDA's commitment to raising the quality of technical vocational education and training (TVET) and ensuring that Filipino workers are equipped with globally competitive skills.
Competitors will vie for top honors across 30 skill areas covering Construction and Building Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Social and Personal Services, and Transportation and Logistics.
Beyond recognizing technical excellence, WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 aims to promote quality, productivity, innovation, and industry relevance in Philippine TVET, benchmark Filipino skills against international standards, strengthen partnerships between government and industry, and identify the country's best talents who will represent the Philippines in regional and global WorldSkills competitions.
The event also builds on the Philippines' successful hosting of the 14th WorldSkills ASEAN Competition and the country's record-breaking performance, further strengthening the nation's position as a regional leader in skills excellence.
Apart from the skills competitions, the week-long event will feature an opening ceremony, conference sessions, skills exhibits, cultural activities, and the General Assembly of WorldSkills Philippines, bringing together industry leaders, educators, trainers, government partners, and technical experts to advance the country's skills development agenda.
WorldSkills Philippines operates under the authority of TESDA and serves as the country's official organizing body for national skills competitions. Gold and silver medalists from the competition may be selected to represent the Philippines in WorldSkills International, WorldSkills Asia, and WorldSkills ASEAN competitions, where they will compete alongside the world's best young skilled professionals.
WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 is conducted pursuant to Section 30 of Republic Act No. 7796, or the TESDA Act of 1994, which mandates the conduct of an annual national skills competition to promote quality skills development and prepare Filipino talents for international skills competitions.
The skills competition also directly addresses President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to equip Filipino workers with globally competitive, industry-aligned skills, and fulfills his mandate to elevate the country’s TVET to international standards.

Inilunsad ngayon ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) ang WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 bilang hudyat ng pagsisimula ng premyadong skills competition para tukuyin ang susunod na grupo ng FIlipino champions na kakatawan sa bansa sa mga idaraos na international skills competitions.
May temang, “Your Skills, Your Future”, ang WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 ay nagbibigay-diin sa ginagampanang papel ng technical skills sa paghubog ng magandang karera sa hinaharap, na naghahanda sa kabataang Pilipino upang kayaning makipagsabayan sa mga manggagawa sa buong mundo.
Ang skills competition, na idaraos sa September 7-11, 2026 sa Clark Freeport Zone sa Pampanga, ay lalahukan ng 350 competitors mula sa 18 regional offices ng TESDA, na nanalo sa idinaos na Regional Skills Olympics.

Dating kilala bilang Philippine National Skills Competition, ang ngayo’y WorldSkills Philippines ay nagtataglay ng pamantayan at balangkas ng WorldSKills International. Ang pagpapalit ng katawagan ay nagpapatunay sa layunin ng TESDA na itaas ang kalidad ng technical vocational education and training (TVET) at tiyaking taglay ng mga manggagawang Pilipino ang kasanayan para makipagkumpetensya saan man sa mundo.
Magtatagisan ang mga kalahok para makuha ang parangal sa 30 skill areas, kabilang na ang Construction and Building Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Social and Personal Services at Transportation and Logistics.
Bukod sa pagkilala sa kahusayang teknikal, ang WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 ay naglalayong isulong ang kalidad, pagiging produktibo, pagbabago at kaugnayan sa industriya ng TVET sa Pilipinas, pagkukumpara ng kasanayan ng Pilipino sa pandaigdigang pamantayan, nagpapatibay sa pagkakasama ng pamahalaan at industriya, at pagtukoy sa pinakamagagaling na talento ng bansa upang kumatawan sa Pilipinas sa mga rehiyunal at pandaigdigang kumpetisyon ng WorldSkills.
Ang kaganapan ay kasunod ng matagumpay na pagdaraos ng 14th WorldSkills ASEAN Competition sa bansa at ng magandang ipinamalas na rekord ng mga kababayang nagwagi, patunay na nangunguna ang Pilipinas sa rehiyon pagdating sa kahusayan sa skills.
Bukod sa kumpetisyon, nakapaloob rin sa isang linggong kaganapan ang seremonya ng pagbubukas, mga kumperensya, mga eksibit, kultural na pagtatanghal at ang General Assembly ng WorldSkills Philippines kung saan magsasama-sama ang mga lider ng industriya at edukasyon, mga tagasanay, mga kapartner ng pamahalaan at mga ekspertong teknikal para isulong ang adyenda ng bansa para sa pag-unlad ng mga kasanayan.
Ang WorldSKills Philippines ay pinamumunuan ng TESDA na nagsisilbing opisyal na lupon para sa pambansang kumpetisyon ng kasanayan. Ang mga mananalo ng medalyang ginto at pilak ang pipiliin para kumatawan sa bansa sa WorldSkills International, WorldSkills Asia at WorldSkills ASEAN, kung sa an makakaharap nila ang mga pinakamagagaling sa buong mundo.
Ang pagdaraos ng WorldSkills Philippines Clark ay alinsunod sa Section 30 ng Republic Act No. 7796 o ang TESDA Act of 1994, na nagbibigay kautusan sa pagdaraos ng taunang kumpetisyon sa kasanayan upang isulong ang kalidad na pagsasanay at ihanda ang talentong Pilipino para sa pandaigdigang kumpetisyon.
Ang pagdaros ng kumpetisyon sa kasanayan ay bilang pagsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na sanayin ang mga Pilipinong manggagawa upang maging handang makipagsabayan sa buong mundo, taglay ang kasanayang kailangan ng industriya, at nag-aangat sa TVET ng bansa sa pandaigdigang pamantayan.
