In line with the directive of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to strengthen workforce development and expand access to employment opportunities, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) reached a total of 811 Cebuanos through its Kayang Kaya All-in-One Caravan in Cebu City.

Led by TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez, the caravan held at SM Seaside City Cebu underscored the agency’s commitment to delivering accessible, inclusive, and employment-driven programs for Filipinos.

The one-stop event served as a hub for skills development, certification, financial inclusion, and employment services, making it easier for participants to access government programs from training to trabaho in a single venue.

Of the 811 individuals served, 364 registered for the TESDA Skills Passport, supporting the digitalization and streamlining of workers’ credentials. A total of 167 individuals enrolled in various TESDA training programs, with 75 participants attending training induction, and 50 completing their respective skills training.

In terms of assessment and certification, 10 candidates underwent competency assessment and were all successfully certified in Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) NC II. Financial inclusion was also promoted, with 52 participants opening Land Bank Piso Plus accounts, enabling better access to financial services that support training and employment.

For Ella Mae Gonzalez, a licensed teacher currently taking up housekeeping under a TESDA scholarship, the caravan was another step closer to her goal of working abroad.

“TESDA helps a lot of people. This is one of the requirements para makapag-abroad ako. To be honest, ito na lang ang kulang ko,” she shared, expressing gratitude for the free training opportunity. “One of the bridges to achieve my dream is TESDA.”

Meanwhile, the job fair component of the caravan drew 77 applicants, resulting in 14 near-hires and 2 hired on the spot, further reinforcing TESDA’s training-to-trabaho pathway.

One of them, Gilbert Wendell Felicilda from Southern Leyte, secured a job as a production operator.

Malaking tulong ito sa mga nangangailangan ng trabaho,” he said.

For his part, Sec. Kiko emphasized that the success of the caravan reflects TESDA’s continued commitment to making skills development and employment opportunities more accessible to every Filipino.

“Mas malinaw ang ating direksyon: training to trabaho.

The successful rollout of the Kayang Kaya All-in-One Caravan in Cebu City highlights TESDA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen technical vocational education and training (TVET), expand access to opportunities, and improve employment outcomes through strong industry linkages and responsive programs.

“TESDA helps a lot of people. This is one of the requirements para makapag-abroad ako. To be honest, ito na lang ang kulang ko,” ayon sa kanya, kasabay ng pagpapasalamat sa libreng training. “One of the bridges to achieve my dream is TESDA”.

“Mas malinaw ang ating direksyon: training to trabaho.
