The Philippines once again proved that Filipino skills are world-class after securing multiple medals at the prestigious WorldSkills Asia Taipei 2025.
The country’s delegation, composed of 6 competitors in 5 skill areas, earned two Silvers, one Bronze, and one Medallion for Excellence, demonstrating outstanding performance and reflecting the country’s growing excellence in technical education and skills development.
Hannah Krystelle Caintic and James Cavin Sayago each bagged a silver medal in the Graphic Design Technology and Electrical Installations skill areas respectively. Likewise, Caintic received the Best of Nation Award, having garnered the highest number of points among Philippine competitors.
The Philippine delegation also earned the Bronze medal in Mechatronics through the efforts of competitors Abraham Badar and Roneil Arriesgado. Meanwhile, the Medallion for Excellence in Cooking was awarded to Agee Docayso.
TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez lauded the Philippine delegation for their exemplary performance on the international stage, highlighting that Filipino talent can compete at the highest international level.
“The achievements of our competitors at WorldSkills Asia Taipei 2025 affirm that Filipino workers can compete with the best in the world. These wins are a testament to their hard work, discipline, and the strong foundation provided by our technical vocational education and training system,” Sec. Kiko said.
TESDA’s participation in WorldSkills Asia supports the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in its thrust to strengthen TVET as a key driver of national development and inclusive growth, and is consistent with the agency’s mandate under Republic Act No. 7796.
Held from November 27-29, the WorldSkills Asia Competition is a premier regional platform that gathered more than 300 competitors from 30 countries, advancing skills excellence and collaboration across Asia.
