Department of Labor and Employment head and TESDA Board Chairperson, Secretary Silvestre “Bebot” Bello III, presided over the first meeting of the year of TVET Agency’s highest policy formulating body last February 3 in Taguig City.
 
Present during the meeting were TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong, and Department of Science and Technology Undersecretary Regional Operations Brenda L. Nazareth-Manzano as well as directors from the Department of Trade and Industry, and the Department of Agriculture.
 
During the meeting, the TESDA Board promulgated three training regulations (TRs) in Agroentrepreneurship (NC II, III and IV), Drying and Milling Plant Servicing NC III, and Milking Operation NC II.  It also approved the amended TRs in Massage Therapy NC II and Domestic Work NC II, and approved the standard assessment fees for 10 TVET qualifications.  Along with these, the Board also approved 2 finance, 1 policy and 1 prioritization for TR resolutions.
 
Also present for the meeting were representatives from the different private sectors including labor, business and investment, employer, and education and training.  The TESDA Board convenes at least twice a year and is primarily responsible for formulating, continuing, coordinated and fully integrated technical education and skills development policies, plans and programs.
