No less than the President, His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III, witnessed a milestone in the history of TESDA as Secretary Joel Villanueva received TESDA’s national ISO 9001:2008 Certification from TUV SUD PSB, a Germany-based international certification body. In a ceremony held at Heroes’ Hall in Malacanang, President Aquino led the awarding rites attended by DOLE Secretary Linda Baldoz, TUV SUD PSB General Manager Femalyn Lati, TESDA Executive Directors, and Regional and Provincial Directors. TESDA’s industry partners and board members also witnessed the momentous occasion.
TESDA is the first agency in the education sector and the second agency of the executive branch to receive such an award. This ISO Certification includes TESDA’s office in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, the first and the only government agency in ARMM to be certified by ISO. In his speech, President Aquino was all praises for the agency’s achievements and for the agency’s beloved head, Secretary Joel Villanueva.

Kung dati, kulelat at tambak ng problema ang ahensiya, ngayon, umaarangkada na, at isa na ang TESDA sa mga nangungunang ahensiya ng gobyerno pagdating sa kalidad ng serbisyo. [Palakpakan] Sabi ko nga po: Panalo talaga ang TESDA dahil kay Sec. Joel Villanueva; ang mga gaya niyang kabahagi natin sa youth sector, siguradong marami pang magagawa para sa kapwa at buong bansa…"
